Zelensky: According to the results of the next «Norman meeting», there is a high chance that the war will end

On Tuesday, August 25, the Prosecutor General’s Office hosted a video conference on the results of the functional and organizational analysis of regional and local prosecutors’ offices conducted by the international consulting company PricewaterhouseCoopers within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Council of Europe.

The video conference was attended by Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Olena Lytvynenko, PwC partner Dmytro Nechytaylo, Deputy Prosecutors General and heads of independent structural units of the Office, as well as prosecutors of Kyiv and Lviv oblasts.

Iryna Venediktova thanked the international partners for their support and assistance in analyzing the work of regional and local prosecutor’s offices.

«Currently, we are actively working on the development of the Strategy for the Development of the Prosecutor’s Office, which will be part of the Concept for the Development of Law Enforcement Bodies. The strategy should, of course, be citizen-oriented, but the focus should be on the prosecutor — strong, powerful and protected. The analysis conducted by our partners will form the basis of the staff list of regional and district prosecutor’s offices and other important changes, so that we can modernly and correctly perform the functions assigned to us by law and the state, «said the Prosecutor General.

In turn, Deputy Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Ukraine Olena Lytvynenko expressed hope that the analysis would be an effective tool in the development process and that the Council of Europe would continue to work with the Office of the Prosecutor General under the Memorandum.

«We will be happy to join the development of the Strategy for the Development of the Prosecutor’s Office so that the standards of the Council of Europe become an integral part of it,» Olena Lytvynenko stressed.

PricewaterhouseCoopers presented the results of the functional and organizational analysis of regional and local prosecutor’s offices. According to experts, to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the prosecutor’s office, the priority areas of development are process automation, staff development and improving the organizational structure.

«We are very grateful for the professional opinion of experts. It will become a reference point for us in the further process of development. We have already started to implement the recommendations of our partners — we are working on the automation of processes, we have created a Training Center, which deals with professional development of prosecutors, because people are our priority, «Iryna Venediktova summed up.
