We will remind, on July 2 the police received the message that the day before in Kiev businessman Sergey Tkachenko was illegally kidnapped. According to this fact, criminal proceedings were instituted on the grounds of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 146 of the Criminal code of Ukraine — Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping.

Today, July 15, officers of the GUNP in Kyiv together with criminal police units, with the support of the KORD special unit, established the location of the abducted person and released him as a result of the «Hostage» plan.

«As a result of clear and coordinated actions of the police, Serhiy Tkachenko, who was abducted in Kyiv on July 1, has just been released. The businessman was held hostage in the basement for two weeks. So far, three criminals have been detained, «Arsen Avakov said.

Now doctors are working with the victim, his life is not in danger.

These persons were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal code of Ukraine — Detention by the authorized official. Further investigative actions and measures are being taken to establish and detain other accomplices in this criminal offense.
