The Office of the Prosecutor General filed an indictment against one of the accomplices of the organized group on the fact of misappropriation of property through abuse of office (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation established that a group of persons in 2005-2013 illegally organized the construction of forty residential, office and shopping and entertainment complexes on land plots in Kyiv.
In particular, in 2012-2013, the director of one of the enterprises in collusion with other members of the organized group, gaining access to the non-residential premises of a state enterprise with an area of 552.2 sq m, which belongs to the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine, under the guise of reconstruction him, erecting in its place a multi-storey residential complex. These actions of the state, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine, caused severe consequences totaling over UAH 2.6 million.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proved in a lawful manner and established by a court conviction.
