The COVID-19 outbreak in the Slovyansk boarding school was eliminated by the City Council

«Today, the outbreak of coronavirus infection in a psychoneurological boarding school has stopped. All patients and staff recovered. There are no new cases. The complex of anti-epidemic and preventive measures has been carried out in full, «the statement reads.
It is noted that a total of 485 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Slovyansk, of which 24 were in children. Most of the infected — 451 — have already been cured, including 21 children.
Currently, 11 patients are treated in the hospitals of Kostiantynivka and Bakhmut, another 23 are in self-isolation and are treated on an outpatient basis, under the supervision of family doctors.
There are 214 citizens in Slovyansk in self-isolation, most of them (154) who have been in contact with those who died.
Over the past week, 212 biological material samples were taken for PCR testing. At the same time, the survey rate in Sloviansk is 191.4 per 100,000 population. For comparison, the average in the region — 36.2 per 100 thousand.
As Ukrinform reported, on June 25 in Slovyansk, a coronavirus infection was found in a psychoneurological boarding school. The Donetsk Regional State Administration then explained that this institution is a closed institution, where communication between residents and staff is very dense, so one patient immediately spread the infection.
After the first case of COVID-19 in an employee, the institution was transferred to enhanced quarantine, all 29 employees remained in it around the clock. In total, about 300 people fell ill in this boarding school.
As of August 18, 94,436 cases of COVID-19 were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 1,616 in the last 24 hours.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 1,106 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the Donetsk region, including 14 deaths and 883 recovering.
