Sale of drugs and counterfeit alcohol — an official of the National Police will stand trial
The Russian delegation staged a demarche during the Security Co-operation Forum (FBS) and the OSCE Permanent Council on 15 July and left the meeting. This happened after unsuccessful attempts by the Russian representative to downplay the topic of hybrid threats and avoid discussing Russia’s hybrid aggression against Ukraine.
This was announced by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna Yevhen Tsymbalyuk,
According to him, as soon as the director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko, one of the keynote speakers on hybrid threats, turned to the example of Russian hybrid aggression, a representative of the Russian delegation spoke on procedural issues and said he was leaving the meeting.
«The special attitude of the Russian delegation to the issue of hybrid threats was not a surprise. The only question left was how the Russian delegation would react: would it try to close it in some way with its narrative or in some other way. I think their demarche was caused by the fact that there were simply no other moves, opinions and texts to respond to.«, — said the diplomat.
According to Tsymbalyuk, the Russian representative, reacting to Litvinenko’s speech, also made a kind of «hybrid move», leaving the meeting room and pretending that this topic allegedly does not concern Russia.
«However, most national delegations have shown in their individual speeches that this is not the case. Speaking of hybrid hostilities, they cited the example of Russian aggression against Ukraine«, — he said.
