Prykarpattia police promptly detained the driver, who was found with weapons and drugs
Yesterday, July 14, at about 5 o’clock in the morning, on Petliura Street in Kolomyia, officers of the patrol police response sector stopped a Mercedes-Benz car for violating traffic rules. In addition, law enforcement officers found a number of prohibited items and substances in the vehicle and the driver.
During communication with the driver militiamen noticed that the man behaves suspiciously and is nervous. The condition of the driver aroused the suspicion of the police that he may be intoxicated with alcohol or drugs, but the young man refused to be examined on the spot and in a medical institution.
Afterwards, law enforcement officers conducted a superficial inspection of the vehicle in accordance with the Law on the National Police. As a result, 2 cartridge-like items were found in the glove compartment between the front seat, as well as about a dozen plastic blisters with an amphetamine-like substance, several plastic bags with a drug-like crushed substance, a blister with powdered drug residues and electronic weighing scales. substances. An investigative task force was called to the scene.
When police inspected the car, the offending driver tried to flee and was overtaken by police and detained. In particular, during a cursory inspection of a man, an object resembling a pistol was found and seized in a store with 8 items resembling cartridges.
All seized evidence was sent for a number of examinations.
A 26-year-old resident of the district was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notification of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (Carrying, storage, acquisition, transfer or sale of firearms (except smooth-bore hunting), ammunition, explosives or explosive devices without a statutory permit) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court will soon choose a measure of restraint for him.
