One of the best duos in the history of tennis, the Brian brothers ended their careers — Ukrainian News

The Brian brothers have announced the end of their careers.

Famous American tennis players Bob and Mike Brian announced the end of his career, according to the New York Times.

“We both sincerely felt that now was the right time. At this age, you need to work so hard to go out on the court and compete. We still love to play, but we don’t like to prepare our bodies for going out on the court. It has become more difficult to recover. We feel we have been competitive this year, last year and the year before. We want to leave right now, while we can still show good tennis, «said Mike Brian.

The Brian brothers are one of the best duos in the history of doubles tennis. They have won 16 Grand Slam tournaments, six ATP final titles and two Olympic medals — the 2012 London Gold and the 2008 Beijing Bronze. In 2010, Mike and Bob broke the record of Australians Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodford for the number of joint titles won.

Bob and Mike Bryan, 42, currently share 27th place in the ATP doubles rankings. Bob Brian missed most of last season due to a hip injury. Mike was competing with compatriot Jack Sock at the time and won Wimbledon, the US Open and the ATP Finals.
