The composition of the jury of the International Competition Program of the 11th Odessa International Film Festival has been announced.

The jury of the international festival will be headed by Canadian composer Howard Shore.

Howard Shore is one of the leading composers of our time, winner of Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe awards. He has written many soundtracks for Hollywood films that viewers have heard for 40 years. In 1978 he wrote his first soundtrack for the drama I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses, and since 1980 has completely focused on creating soundtracks for films. Among his works are The Fly (1986), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), The Game (1997), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004). The composer is best known for his work on the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson.

Together with him, the films of the International Competition will be judged by Icelandic actress and theater director Haldor Gerhardsdottir, Portuguese star Joana Ribeiro, Ukrainian theater, film and dubbing actress Larisa Rusnak and French actor and director Serge Avedikian.

Haldor Gerhardsdottir started out as a saxophonist and singer in the pop group Risaeðlan / Reptile. She graduated from the Icelandic Theater Academy in 1995 and has since become a leading actress in the Reykjavik City Theater. Starred in the opening film of the 9th OIFF Mountain Woman: In War.

Joana Ribeiro is a movie star from Portugal. The international audience became famous after the role of Angelica in Terry Gilliam’s films The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Larisa Rusnak is a Ukrainian theater, film and dubbing actress, People’s Artist of Ukraine. More than 60 roles in films and TV shows. The most famous roles are in the films Stepfather, The Right to Protection, Ashes of the Phoenix, Stolen Happiness, Birthday of the Bourgeois, Only Love, Stremglav.

Odessa International Film Festival: the competition program is known

Serge Avedikian began his career as an actor in theater, cinema and television in 1979, and in 1982 he began making documentaries, and after 8 years — short films. In 2010 he received the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for the short animated film Dog Stories. In 2013, he starred in the lead role in the biographical drama Parajanov, which received the Golden Duke as the best Ukrainian film of the 4th OIFF.

The 11th Odessa International Film Festival will take place online from September 25 to October 3.
