«Maidan Affairs»: DBR has completed the investigation into the murder of Yuri Verbytsky, as well as the abduction and torture of Igor Lutsenko | StopCor

Investigators of the Office for the Investigation of Crimes Committed in connection with the Mass Protests in 2013-2014, the State Bureau of Investigation, under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General, have completed a pre-trial investigation into two persons suspected of involvement in a criminal organization. year kidnapped Lutsenko IV and Verbytsky Yu.T. from the Oleksandrivka Clinical Hospital in Kyiv, they were tortured and murdered by Yuri Verbytsky.

They are suspected of:

• illegal deprivation of liberty or kidnapping committed by an organized group (Part 3 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
• creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it (Part 1 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine;
• illegal obstruction of the organization or holding of meetings, rallies, marches and demonstrations (part, Article 340 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (01.07.2020)).

One of the defendants is also suspected of:

• premeditated murder of a kidnapped person, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
• torture, by prior conspiracy of a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine);
• forgery of documents and their use (4 Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (01.07.2020));
• official forgery (Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (01.07.2020)).

Note: in connection with the use of a forged passport and the use of knowingly forged official documents, the suspect hid from the pre-trial investigation body for more than 5 years.

The suspects are currently in custody and have been given access to pre-trial investigation materials. After the parties have been acquainted with the materials of the criminal proceedings, the indictment will be sent to court.
