The attacker chose to attack the elderly so that they could not resist. Police detained the suspect. Currently, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, the pre-trial investigation into three facts of robbery has been completed. The man faces up to six years in prison.
In late July, the Kramatorsk Police Department began receiving reports of robberies in the middle of the street during the day. In total, three citizens aged 69 to 80 turned to the police.
From the description of the appearance and manner of the crime, the police understood that the attacker was the same person.
The attacker acted during the day. He attacked the elderly in the middle of the street. He acted quickly, knocking me off my feet and distracting me, taking my bags and mobile phones.
Officers of the Kramatorsk Criminal Police Department conducted a set of operational and investigative measures. Detectives have identified individuals to whom the robber sold the stolen phones. Later it was found out that the malefactor was a 33-year-old resident of Kramatorsk, who had been repeatedly convicted of committing mercenary crimes.
The defendant was detained, he was informed about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 186 of the Criminal code of Ukraine «Robbery», and also the precautionary measure in the form of detention was chosen.
The pre-trial investigation has now been completed and the indictments have been sent to court.
