Interregional criminal group engaged in illegal manufacture and sale of weapons exposed (PHOTOS)

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, investigators of the Investigative Department, under the operational support of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Donetsk Oblast State Police, uncovered an interregional criminal group engaged in the illegal manufacture and sale of firearms, ammunition and explosives.

According to the investigation, the criminal group included residents of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy regions and the city of Kyiv. The sale of illegally manufactured goods took place on the territory of Ukraine through a specialized site, the so-called military auction. As part of the pre-trial investigation, during a set of investigative actions, law enforcement officers made operational purchases of 47 kilograms of gunpowder.

Currently, searches are being conducted in four oblasts at the addresses of the residents of the criminal proceedings, in their vehicles. Explosives, firearms, ammunition and equipment for their production were seized.

The issue of notification of suspicions and choice of precautionary measures is being resolved.
