In the Kharkiv region, farmers kept people in labor slavery StopCor

In the village of Mala Rohan in the Kharkiv region in May 2020, law enforcement officers discovered the fact of labor slavery. A 56-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman who had recruited people for forced labor on their own farm were exposed.

At that time, law enforcement officers found nine people on the territory of a private farm who were forced to work there, lived in appalling conditions and did not receive wages. Among them are three women, five men and one minor. On the farm, workers cared for cattle and pets.

However, as of August 21, law enforcement officers found that there were 12 episodes of criminal activity of farmers.

They face punishment under Part 2 and 3 of Art. 149 (Trafficking in human beings) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — up to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, reports «Facts».
