In Poltava region, a man was struck by lightning


In connection with the planned festive events on the occasion of the State Flag Day and the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 22, the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are moving to an enhanced version of service. Ensuring public and quarantine security was discussed today during a meeting chaired by First Deputy Interior Minister Serhiy Yarovy.


The meeting was attended by the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Oleksandr Facevych, Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Balan, Head of the State Emergency Service Mykola Chechotkin, Kyiv Police Chief Andriy Kryshchenko and representatives of other law enforcement agencies.

According to the First Deputy Interior Minister, several mass events, including marches, are planned for August 23 and 24.

Therefore, from August 22, the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be transferred to an enhanced version of service.

«Situation centers are starting to function. We are preparing to ensure public safety and involve 4,500 law enforcement officers of the National Police, the National Guard, and the State Emergency Service in security measures. Our position is maximum tolerance and dialogue. At the same time, there is an immediate response and determination in case of law and order violations and various provocations, ”Serhiy Yarovy emphasized.

The First Deputy Minister of the Interior stressed the need to observe security measures in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection.

The head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko noted that during the festive mass events a heavy burden will fall on the dialogue police.

«Our goal is to ensure the peaceful and calm holding of all public events. And a great burden falls on the police dialogue — to prevent provocations, to shake up the situation, to avoid conflicts. Citizens should be safe to hold public holidays, «Ihor Klymenko stressed.

The head of the National Police said that during the mass events police tents will be set up, where the protesters will be able to take water and get the necessary help.

Kyiv Police Chief Andriy Kryshchenko noted that the staff of the Minsk police is ready to perform law enforcement tasks.

«Already tonight we are strengthening patrols at the places of planned events. Operational units will also be involved in the prevention of offenses, including pickpocketing, ”Andriy Kryshchenko said.

The meeting also stressed the need for full coordination and cooperation, constant exchange of information between all bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other law enforcement agencies.
