In Kyiv, on the territory of a military college, a drunk driver hit three cadets

«On the territory of the military college in Kyiv, a drunken major hit a zoologist and drove over three cadet girls who came to the institution in uniform,» the statement reads.
All the girls in serious condition were hospitalized in a military hospital. One of them has both legs amputated.
The culprit was detained at the scene.
The fact of intoxication of the driver has already been confirmed by the dragger on the spot.
The capital’s police have launched criminal proceedings over the accident.
«The capital police received the message that on the territory of military unit on Zoological Street the driver of the Toyota Prius car struck three cadets of military high school. An investigative task force to investigate the accident of the capital’s police immediately went to the scene. It was previously established that the driver, being in a state of intoxication, did not manage to drive and hit the cadets who were standing near the administrative building. The driver, born in 1974, was detained under Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Information about the incident was entered into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations, criminal proceedings were instituted under Part 2 of Art. 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal code of Ukraine which sanction provides to eight years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive the vehicle till three years.
Law enforcement officers are working at the scene to carry out priority investigative actions.
The pre-trial investigation will be carried out under the procedural guidance of the military prosecutor’s office.
