Igor Klimenko, the former director of the plant in the Kirovograd region, is suspected of wasting 11,000 tons of grain

Two agricultural enterprises handed over the harvest to the Dolyna feed mill for storage. And when it came time to return it, instead of grain, the owners found empty premises. The amount of losses reaches over 51 million hryvnias. The Chief of the National Police of Ukraine announced this today, July 18.

Representatives of agricultural firms complained to the police about the disappearance of the stored crop. They said that in the summer of 2018, 11,000 tons of grain were left in the special warehouses of the feed mill.

«Last year, the applicants appealed to the plant’s administration to ship the goods, as they had to be sold to pay the shareholders and prepare for sowing. However, the remaining harvest was not found in the warehouses. On this fact, the investigators of the National Police initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. .

Recently, investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police together with police officers of the Kirovohrad region under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General conducted more than a dozen authorized searches.

During the searches of one of the defendants, the magazines of the so-called «black bookkeeping» were found and confiscated, which included data on the illegal sale of grain totaling more than 51 million hryvnias. Having gathered sufficient evidence, the man, who at that time was the director of the Dolyna feed mill, was informed about the suspicion of embezzlement. Today he is a deputy of the local city council, «Ihor Klymenko added.

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the perpetrator — detention — is currently being resolved.
