«He hit only on the head» — a woman was tortured and set on fire in the house by an acquaintance

The criminal group consisted of four residents of Kamyanske, aged 19 to 30. The attackers have now been notified of the suspicion. The issue of choosing precautionary measures in the form of detention is being resolved.

Thus, in April 2019, near one of the cafes in Kamyanske, criminals attacked two passers-by. The attackers beat the victims, confiscated money and valuables, and then fled. Thanks to operative measures carried out by officers of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Strategic Investigations Department, investigators from the Oblast Police Investigation Department, under the procedural guidance of the Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, were able to identify not only the direct attackers but also other members of the criminal group. Police found that the attackers «specialized» in robberies. The members of the group were natives of another country aged 19 to 30, who have temporary residence permits in Ukraine.

On Monday, July 13, on the basis of the received evidence of involvement of persons in commission of a crime, militiamen with force support of a regiment of special purpose of police carried out actions for detention of malefactors. Authorized searches were also conducted at their places of residence. Police seized weapons, ammunition and drugs.

Currently, the detainees have been informed about the suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 187 (robbery) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. As part of the pre-trial investigation, the perpetrators will be checked for possible involvement in other crimes.

Employees of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office petitioned the court to remand the suspects in custody. For committing criminal offenses, criminals can face up to fifteen years in prison with confiscation of property.
