The salary will be increased both for doctors and for middle and junior medical staff.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the initiative of the Ministry of Health and allocated funds to increase the salaries of medical workers from September 1, 2020. This was at a briefing following a government meeting, said Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov.
“On June 19, at the initiative of the Ministry of Health and on behalf of the president, a decision was made to systematically increase the salaries of all medical workers. The salary of a doctor will increase by an average of 3.5 thousand hryvnias, of secondary medical personnel — by approximately 2.5 thousand hryvnias, and of junior medical personnel — by approximately 1,250 hryvnias. Today we have allocated a specific financial resource for labor compensation from September 1. This is a systematic solution to move towards ensuring that the salaries of doctors are at a high level, «said Stepanov.
The money will be directed to health care institutions that belong to the Ministry of Health’s sphere of administration, through the Ministry of Health, as well as to community-owned health care institutions through the NSZU (the so-called motivation package) or to health departments of the oblast and Kyiv city state administrations.
