Donetsk police detained a group of drug traffickers StopCor

5 people who organized the sale of especially dangerous narcotic and psychotropic substances on the territory of Dobropil district were exposed. The defendants were informed about the suspicion of trade in methamphetamine and acetylated opium. A consignment of opium worth about 40,000 hryvnias was seized.

Officers of the Drug Crime Control Department, detectives of the Donetsk Oblast Police Investigation Department together with a special police company and under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office stopped the illegal business of a group of drug traffickers.

It has been established that five residents of Dobropillya and Belozersk have established drug trafficking since February 2020. The goods were sold only to a limited number of verified buyers.

To document the illegal activities of drug dealers, the police conducted 10 stages of operational drug procurement. The group has been exposed.

A search of the suspects’ homes seized 500 ml of acetylated opium and 6.5 liters of solvent, as well as drug accessories, syringes and mobile phones. The cost of the seized drug at the prices of the «black market» in this area is almost 40 thousand hryvnias.

The group members were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine

The pre-trial investigation continues under Part 2 of Art. 307 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (sale of drugs by prior conspiracy of group of persons).

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the defendants is being resolved.
