DBR reports suspicion of former police officer from Kirovohrad region in an attempt to rape a girl (UPDATED)

The State Bureau of Investigation together with the Kirovohrad Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine and under the procedural guidance of the Kirovohrad Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported on suspicion of attempted rape of a former assistant of the next Vilshansky VP Golovanivsky VP of the National Police in Kirovohrad region 1 Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation established that on February 1, 2020, around midnight, the suspect, who was working in the police at the time, while driving his own car in a state of intoxication, offered the girl to drive her home. Instead, he drove onto a dirt road, where he stopped the vehicle. He then struck the girl several times on the head and torso, pulled her out of the car and tried to rape her.

The locals, who heard her screams, helped to stop the man’s abuse of the girl.

If convicted, the suspect faces imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.
