The miners beat German Wolsburg in the Europa League for the second time.
The long-awaited match of the 1/8 of the Europa League between Ukrainian Shakhtar and German Wolfburg took place at the Olympic Games in Kyiv. It was the return match of the 1/8 finals of LE.
In the far first match, Donetsk managed to beat the «wolves» 2: 1 on the road. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the matches were postponed and it was unclear whether the match would take place in Ukraine at all. But all the organizational moments were settled and the match took place at home.
The first half passed carefully and without goals. The denouement came in the second half. In the 68th minute, the miners’ defender Khocholava was removed, and two minutes later he was a player of Wolsburg.
At the end of the match Moraes hit the gate of Casteels and 4 minutes later made a double. Solomon finished off the visiting team in the 94th minute 3: 0.
