Absenteeism, not a good reason — the Rada determined the criteria for non-appearance of deputies StopCor

The Verkhovna Rada plans to determine the valid reasons for the absence of people’s deputies at plenary sittings and sittings of VR committees. On July 15, people’s deputies approved the relevant bill №3642 as a basis.

321 people’s deputies voted for the document.

This law clarifies the list of valid reasons for the absence of a parliamentarian:

• execution by him at this time of the instructions of the parliament, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada in accordance with the law, the committee (by the decision of the committee, which includes the People’s Deputy);
• business trips, participation in activities carried out within the work of permanent delegations;
• temporary disability;
• receiving services in the field of health care (according to a medical opinion);
• maternity leave, maternity leave, childcare leave, marital leave, maternity leave, other circumstances where, in accordance with the law, the employee leave is granted;
• documented transport obstacles.

Other reasons related to the implementation of the rights and responsibilities defined by the Civil Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Code of Administrative Procedure, the Criminal Procedure Code, the law «On the Constitutional Court», about which the deputy in advance, but no later than the day of the next plenary session, must notify the Speaker of the Council.
